Big Horse Feed & Farm Supply
33320 Temecula Parkway
Temecula, CA 92592
With a small amount of product to start and some renovation, it took the Corona Family about 3 months to have the store ready for a grand opening. But the important thing was coming up with the right name. It is often asked how they got the name “Big Horse Feed.”
Since 1972, the Corona Family had been farming their 165 acres in Temecula and had often hosted educational programs for the local schools. Rose Corona, the Corona’s daughter, was always in charge of those programs. Rose also owns and used her two Belgian Draft Horses for all of the school programs. Draft Horses are unique in themselves mostly because they are so big. However the Corona’s found that although people may not know the family, the people in the community and their children sure knew those two horses, Jim and Mike. Often, people would ask where Corona Ranch was, and when they were told of the location, people would exclaim, “Oh I know you! You’re the ones with the Big Horses!” So with their picture neatly put atop the building in their team harness, Jim and Mike overlook the name of the store “Big Horse Feed and Feed Supply”.
