From 1879 through the early 1940's the business founder's great great grandfather, great grandfather, grandfather and his father were involved in commercial and residential construction within the 200 acres of our DUIN family owned property located in Los Angeles that became known as HOLLYWOOD.
During the mid 1950's, the business founder worked during the summers in the building trades alongside his Dad learning "Old World Quality" building trade techniques past down generation-to-generation since 1879, of which the business founder has passed along to his son Robby L. Duin and later onto his grandson Adam. Roofing is just one of our specialties.
In 1963, after the business founders honorable discharge from the U. S. Army combat duty with HQHQ24thInfDiv34thInf "Admin-Military-Justus" during the Vietnam War era, he continued his education with emphasis on Business Law while serving in a managerial position under Civil Engineering with responsibilities for new construction and maintenance management for the U. S. Air Force Administration Facility located in El Segundo, CA.
In 1971, the business founder established H & R Concrete Pumping Inc. and later that name was revised to "Duin Construction" involved in large Commercial and Freeway reinforced concrete projects to include commercial, industrial, and residential remolding projects within Los Angeles County, and later that year the company became involved in roof structural retrofitting and deck and balcony waterproofing restoration projects caused from the Sylmar Quake for Public Schools, Federal and State projects, Commercial High Rise, Shopping Centers, Apartment and Condo complexes, Freeway Overpasses, Reservoirs, Dams, and Residential projects.
